I live 50 miles away from Cape Canaveral, but I ran outside and just got a glimpse of the fiery rockets as they disappeared into the upper atmosphere over the Atlantic Ocean. Snapped a few pics of the contrail a moment later.

Cool! Was it very noisey? When we have been in Orlando on vacation we have heard the somic boom re-entry makes and even watched a launch once, small one but the sound was awesome! Roar!
Nah, from 50 miles away, I didn't expect to hear anything. Should I have? Although, now that I think about it, I DID hear the sonic boom the last time a shuttle came in for a landing.
